DO YOU WANT SMOOTHER, GLOWING SKIN?
Do you want more radiant, brighter, firmer-looking skin? Are you fed up after applying makeup that it clings to that fine baby facial hair (or peach fuzz), ruining its appearance?
Have you ever wondered how celebrities have smooth flawless, photo ready skin – even under strong studio lighting and ultra-HD cameras?
The answer is Dermaplaning!
Dermaplaning is a favourite among super models and celebrities, partly due to the minimal downtime after the procedure. You can pop out of the office or step away from your day to day duties, arrive for your treatment and in just 30 minutes it’s done and you’ll be ready to go about your day – with smoother, glowing skin!
Dermaplaning requires a skilled skin specialist to handle a sharp and sterile surgical blade, which gently slides over the skin at a 45-degree angle; this draws away all unwanted dead skin cells and fine facial hairs, leaving the surface extremely smooth and radiant. Clean and smooth skin, free of dead skin cells and peach fuzz, allows for greater penetration of skincare products, also creating a beautifully even canvas for makeup to glide on flawlessly.
Peach fuzz can leave skin looking dull, as it traps oils and debris and leaves them clinging to your skin. Once the fuzz and dead skin cells are removed, your skin will feel fantastically clean and healthy.
Dermaplaning is also perfect as an ‘add-on’ procedure to prep the skin before treatments such as skin peels. We often use dermaplaning so you respond more effectively as the dead skin cells have been removed, enhancing your experience and taking your end results to the next level.
Patients that have blonde, downy or grey hairs that are often not suitable for laser hair removal especially benefit from dermaplaning; it removes all the unwanted fuzz, as well as leaving smoother fresher skin.
We start by double cleansing the skin with an antibacterial cleanser, we then tone and blot the skin dry. We ‘scrape’ the scalpel across the very top layer of the upper dermis removing fine hair and dead skin. This may sound alarming, but most people are so relaxed that they fall asleep during the treatment. Once we have completed the removal, we will cleanse again and apply a protective balm and an SPF cream.
Dermaplaning is a great treatment for anyone with dry skin, fine lines, pigmentation and acne scarring. It is particularly beneficial for ageing skin to assist with cell turnover. Unfortunately we are unable to treat anyone with active acne or other skin conditions which could be exacerbated. Benefits include:
Reduces fine lines and acne scarring
Removes vellous hair
Increases cell turnover promoting younger, fresher skin
Removes trapped oil and dirt
Safe treatment for all skin types and ages
Results are immediately visible
Better penetration of your skincare products
No downtime required, you can get back to your routine immediately.
You won't grow a beard after getting dermaplaning. Vellous hair is different from the hair on your head and eyebrows, Dermaplaning does not affect hair growth at all. Nothing happens to the follicles themselves, so the growth of the hair isn't changed.
If you fall in love with the treatment, you can get it as often as every 4 - 6 weeks, as this is when the cells renew and hair grows back.
Usually, the skin is a little red and sensitive immediately after the treatment, and can be a little dry for a couple of days following it. However, downtime is fairly minimal and you should be able to go about as normal afterwards. Sometimes in people with active acne it can create more redness for a few days, so this is something to consider.
