A Natural Lifted Look
Would you like a more youthful, yet naturally lifted look? The Freedom Face Lift is a specialised technique for restoring facial volume in strategic areas, giving maximal lift and support using the advanced dermal fillers. The results are immediate, with minimal discomfort or downtime.
The Freedom Facelift is based on the 8 Point Approach which was created by world famous Brazilian Plastic Surgeon Mauricio de Maio who is a renowned expert, author and international speaker on Botulinum toxin, facial filling and minimally invasive techniques. The lifting points are a
general guideline which will be tailored to your needs. A personalised consultation is necessary to determine the best ‘total look’ and plan and budget for your concerns. One major advantage of the lift is that it can achieve results comparable to surgery, but without the general
anaesthetic, bruising, recovery time, and extra cost associated with surgery.
This technique is ideal for anyone who is starting to notice some skin laxity and volume loss. The most common things people with skin laxity report include:
- skin sagging or face ‘dropping’
- ‘tired’ looking under eye area
- jowls forming along the jawline
As we age, key areas of the face lose their volume, and this results in less firmness of the skin with some descent and droopiness of the face. The Freedom facelift targets these key areas using a hydrating dermal filler, to create a beautiful, naturally lifted result that is subtle and long-lasting.
Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring component in the skin; it attracts and holds water to provide lasting hydration, structure and replace lost volume. The fillers gradually dissolve over time.
A typical Freedom Facelift includes
A small amount of volume in this area enhances the cheek bones and often helps to lift the nasolabial (nose to mouth) folds too. As we age we lose some of the cheekbone projection or bony support, and as a consequence the skin isn’t supported as well as
previously and the cheek can look hollow and droop downwards. We also lose fat underneath the eye and in the cheek resulting in a hollow or tired appearance. Additionally with age the eye sockets enlarge and change shape, resulting again in loss of support in the under-eye area.
Reduces the appearance of tired hollows under the eyes. If you have significant hollows you may need additional product with a softer, more flexible dermal filler to help with this. Nasolabial (nose to mouth) folds adjacent to nose: This area often deepens with age, so adding volume here can help give a more youthful appearance.
Marionette lines (mouth corners):
The down turning of the mouth with age gives a ‘down frown’ that can make us look sad or bitter. Creating some support with dermal filler can not only lift the face, but make us look happier too!
Pre jowl area:
Loss of volume in the jaw, cheek and chin area can all contribute to jowl formation, so replacing volume in the hollow along the jawline, along with the other areas of the Lift, can all help to reduce or improve jowls.
As we age, we lose the squareness or angle of the jaw, which helps to lift and support the lower face, so the lower face starts to fall forward, contributing to jowls and sagging. A subtle enhancement of the angle of the jaw can help lift these areas. If you have significant loss of volume in this area you may require more product, and different techniques to get best results. Lower cheek volume/buccal area: Hollowing of the lower cheek area can contribute to facial folds and can make us look gaunt or aged, while
treating this area with filler can help with improve the natural curve and structure and lift of the cheek.
Lower cheek volume/buccal area:
Hollowing of the lower cheek area can contribute to facial folds and can make us look gaunt or aged, while treating this area with filler can help with improve the natural curve and structure and lift of the cheek.
If you are over the age of 35, especially if you have started to notice your face drooping or sagging, it is likely that you will be a good candidate for this technique. If you have more severe laxity, a good result is still possible, but more filler and possibly some different techniques may be
required for best results.
Results are immediate, and Victoria will often check your results in a mirror with you during the treatment to show you your progress. There can be a little swelling after treatment for a few days and the final result is usually apparent at 2-4 weeks later.
Results can last on average about 12-15 months, however supplemental ‘touch up’ treatments may be required to achieve and maintain the desired look.
We book a 60 minute appointment to allow time for assessment, discussion, and to sign a consent form. We take before and after (confidential) photos, and the treatment itself takes about 40 minutes. Weprovide information for at home to minimise swelling, an aftercare sheet
and a contact number for Victoria in case of any follow up queries.
Any discomfort is usually minimal and brief. We use numbing cream and an ice-pack during treatment. The new generation of dermal fillers that we use contains numbing local anaesthetic, which makes the procedure much easier.
In certain places Victoria also uses cannulas, which are a special type of needle designed to reduce discomfort and bruising.
Most people are in and out with minimal or no downtime. We can apply concealer makeup afterwards. We recommend that you take it easy for 4 hours after treatment and we recommend not doing strenuous exercise, or going in a spa/sauna/swimming pool for the first 24-48 hours.
If you are planning to have the procedure to look great for a special event such as a birthday or wedding, we recommend having the procedure at least 4 weeks before the event, as will often take 2-4 weeks to settle in properly. We do not recommend having this treatment within 2 weeks of a special event (in case there is bruising), or within 1 week of an international flight (this can prolong swelling and increase the chance of infection).
Victoria uses the internationally recognised HA dermal fillers, which means that side effects are usually minimal and temporary and the treatment can be reversed if necessary.
The most common side effects include temporary skin reactions such as redness, tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and if they occur, they are short-lived and generally mild. There are rare risks of infection with these fillers and Dr Brenner will go through all of this before the procedure. We follow strict hygiene and infection- prevention guidelines to prevent complications.
